Family-Friendly Camping Destination
Located only a few minutes from SIU, Walkers Bluff Winery and Casino, Giant City State Park, Garden of the Gods, Shawnee National Forest and many more local attractions from concerts to local artisans. Both campgrounds are situated on the Crab Orchard Lake and offer waterfront sites. Quiet, serene atmosphere, trails, birdwatching, and wonderful photo opportunities. There are opportunities for everyone of any age to enjoy!
About Us
Concessionaires The REEF LLC, operated by the Pettigrew Family oversee both Crab Orchard Campground and Bluegill Bay Marina & Campground, nestled in the heart of Crab Orchard National Wildlife Refuge. We offer a variety of activities for all ages, and we guarantee you'll have a great time. We offer RV sites, primitive sites and boat slip rentals.

• Cost: $45 per night
• Features: Equipped with electric, water, and sewer hookups, these sites are perfect for RVs and campers looking for maximum convenience.
• Water & Electric Sites
• Cost: $35 per night
• Features: Ideal for campers who require partial amenities, offering water and electric hookups.
• Primitive Sites
• Cost: $18 per night
• Features: Designed for a traditional camping experience, these sites have no hookups and are perfect for tent campers or those seeking a closer connection to nature.

• Accepted for seniors and individuals with an Access Pass, offering 40% off selected sites at Crab Orchard Campground (10% starting June 1st 2026), NO DISCOUNTS ON WEEKENDS at Crab Orchard Campground. 40% off sites at Bluegill Bay every day(10% beginning June 1st 2026 and NO DISCOUNTS ON WEEKENDS). Minimum 3-night stay during holidays.
Pass holder must be present at check in with physical eligible pass and be staying on site each night.
We give a discount for the Senior or access (disabled) pass. Beginning June 1st we will begin offering a 10% discount to First Responders, Teachers, and Military/ Veterans. Crab Orchard Campground combines natural beauty with a range of accommodations and amenities to provide a comfortable and enjoyable camping experience for all visitors. Whether you’re an RV traveler or a tent camper, the campground has something to suit your needs.
Bluegill Bay Marina & Campground offers 34 Water & electric campsites, 137 boat slips renting on daily or annual options. Bath house, fish cleaning station, fishing piers, boat ramp, activity center, laundry facility, General store with BAIT inside. Coming soon- playground equipment and dog park. Pricing is the same at both Campgrounds.
Boat slip rentals are $650.00 annually or $5.00 daily
Amenity basic pass $3.00 per person daily, $7.00 per person weekly, $20.00 per person monthly. $150 for annual pass.

Activities
We have a wide range of activities to keep you entertained, including hiking, fishing, kayaking, and more. We also have a beach opening Memorial Weekend through Labor Day weekend. Watch for our playground and laundry facilities to open soon. Bike rentals coming soon. Kayak rentals beginning in April of 2026.

Important need to know
Rules and Regulations
1. Check-In: All campers, visitors, and guests must check in at the office upon arrival.
Checkout time: 1pm. Failure to leave by your checkout time could result in your camper, property, and vehicles being removed by tow at the owner's expense.
Check in time is 3pm unless prior approval by management.
2. Campsite Maintenance: Campsites must be kept clean, and trash must be disposed of properly. No burning trash in fire pits. Only camping equipment related items kept outside.
3. Length of Stay: Maximum stay is 14 nights per site. Campers must vacate for 48 hours before returning to a different site.
4. Two-night minimum weekend stay and three nights minimum for holiday weekends.
5. Guests: Guests are the responsibility of the person they are visiting and must follow all campground rules.
6. Quiet Hours: Quiet hours are from 10 p.m. to 7 a.m. Please be respectful of others during these times.
7. Pets: Must be leashed (max 10 feet), vaccinated, and not left unattended. Owners must clean up after their pets.
• No pets allowed in restrooms.
• No pets allowed on the beach or picnic areas.
8. Golf Carts: Allowed with proof of insurance and adult drivers only. Must stay on roadways and follow speed limits.
9. Vehicles: Speed limits apply throughout the campground. No reckless driving.
10. Boats & RVs: Must have valid insurance.
11. Fireworks and Firearms: Fireworks are prohibited. Firearms must comply with state laws.
12. Restrooms: No smoking in restrooms.
13. Safety & Compliance: Follow all posted rules. Violations may result in eviction without refund.

Crab Orchard Campground and Bluegill Bay Marina and Campground are not responsible for personal injury, illness, property damage, theft, or loss occurring on the premises. Visitors assume all risks associated with recreational activities and agree to use facilities at their own risk. The Campgrounds are not liable for damages caused by natural conditions, weather, or third-party services. Visitors agree to indemnify and hold the Campgrounds harmless from any claims or damages arising from their use of the premises.

• Reservations:
• Both first-come, first-served and reservations are accepted.
• Reservations can be made online or through the campground office.
• Refund Policy for Reservations:
• Cancellations 15 days or more before the reservation date:
• No refunds will be issued.
• A 50% camp credit will be provided, which can be used for reservations within the same calendar year upon availability.
• Cancellations 14 days or less before the reservation date:
• No refunds or credits will be issued.
• Boat Slip Rentals:
• No refunds will be issued for annual boat slip rentals at Bluegill Bay Marina.
